Leyes Exceeds Expectations in Latest Fundraising Report!
Mark Leyes, Republican candidate for the 68th Assembly District, has reported over $200,000 cash on hand in his campaign treasury in the most recent filings as of June 30th. Leyes fundraising success is testament to his broad base of support amongst both elected officials throughout Orange County and business and community leaders within the district.
Mark Leyes fundraising is right on track and has equaled or surpassed most Assembly candidates at this point in the campaign, said campaign consultant Chris Wysocki. Leyes early start has established him as the clear front-runner for the Republican nomination for the 68th A.D.
Also of note is that Leyes did not employ the sort of accounting tricks many candidates do, including Leyes opponent. The gimmick is to collect money in excess of statutory contribution limits supposedly to use in the November General election. The collections artificially inflate cash balances and must be repaid unless the candidate wins the primary election.
Mark Leyes has a strong record of fiscal conservatism in his 12 years on the Garden Grove City Council. With the support of Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and Assemblyman Bob Pacheco, as well as dozens of elected officials representing every city in the district, Leyes is well-positioned to communicate his message of limited government, low taxes, and budget discipline to the voters of the 68th A.D.
The 68th Assembly District is currently held by Assemblyman Ken Maddox, who is being forced to leave office due to term limits.
