Mark Leyes is OPPOSED to Gambling Casinos in Garden Grove.  Mark REFUSED to sign a SECRET AGREEMENT with a Nevada Billionaire to bring Vegas-Style Casino just a few hundred feet away from Homes, Schools and Churches!

Gambling Casinos bring Crime, Gangs, Corruption, Traffic, Noise, and Blight to a community. Mark Leyes is OPPOSED to any casino in Garden Grove, EVER!

On June 8 of this year, Mark Leyes REFUSED to sign a SECRET AGREEMENT with a Las Vegas Casino developer.  (SEE THE AGREEMENT.)  Councilmen Bill Dalton, Mark Rosen and Van Tran signed the “Non-Disclosure Agreement” to keep negotiations with the Casino developer SECRET from the public. 

Now, the Orange County District Attorney is investigating the SECRET AGREEMENT for violating the law! (SEE THE O.C. REGISTER REPORT.)

MARK LEYES OPPOSES BACK ROOM DEALS AND SECRET NEGOTIATIONS!  As Mayor, Mark Leyes will always do the public’s business in public. For Open and Honest Government, vote Mark Leyes for Mayor.


A Leader for All of Us

Councilman Mark Leyes was born and raised in Garden Grove. Mark went to local public schools and earned Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degrees in Economics from California State University, Fullerton. With his wife, Wanda, Mark owns his home in Garden Grove. They are both active in their church and neighborhood. For Mark, Garden Grove is more than just a place to live... it is his family’s future.


Protecting Our Neighborhoods

Councilman Mark Leyes has established a highly effective Gang Suppression Unit, Juvenile Justice Center, and Community Policing Plan. Mark increased neighborhood police patrols by converting dozens of desk jobs at police headquarters into front line officers on the street.


Fighting for Taxpayers

Councilman Mark Leyes has consistently voted against utility tax increases. Mark opposes property tax and rate tax increases. Mark has worked to protect Proposition 13 and has fought for accountable government at all levels.


Improving the Community

Councilman Mark Leyes is working with the Garden Grove School Board to keep schools safe. Mark has worked with education leaders to improve schools and bring a Higher Education Center to Garden Grove.
